Rigoberto Acosta, MD
Board Certified in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology
Dr. Acosta is board-certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (a conjoint board of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics). He specializes in both pediatric and adult Allergy/Immunology, and completed his fellowship program at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. While in fellowship, his clinical research focused on studying the relationship between food allergies and asthma in pediatric patients. Dr. Acosta received his Medical Degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine from Christiana Care Health System in Delaware, after which he worked as a hospitalist at Legacy Salmon Creek. After managing patients with Dr. Carolyn Comer here in Vancouver, he served as Section Chief of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Guthrie Health in Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
He loves talking to his patients and takes time to listen diligently and to understand them as individuals with very specific needs and goals for treatment and is committed to offering them the personalized and individualized care they need.
His interests include rhinitis, sinusitis, nasal polyps, food allergies, drug allergies, insect allergies, anaphylaxis, eczema, hives/swelling, rashes, contact dermatitis, asthma, cough and immune deficiency.
Dr. Acosta resides in Vancouver with his wife and three children. They enjoy traveling, and spending time with family.
